NFL Draft Grades 2010, NFL Draft Analysis and Draft Picks Results Updates

The NFL Draft grades 2010 and draft analysis are coming in. The National Football League selections were completed yesterday at the Radio City Music Hall in New York City. The final round is over and now it's time to start picking apart the picks.

Their first round pick was Florida center Maurkice Pouncey, who is a gifted athlete with great feet and mobility for his size. He also brings the versatility to line up at either guard or center. His overall skill set should make him a more-than-adequate starter for years to come.

Their second round pick was Virginia Tech outside linebacker Jason Worilds, who has substantial durability concerns that stem from chronic shoulder problems. However, he is a versatile third-down player; he as an array of pass-rush moves and has ample experience dropping into coverage. He has some problems when teams run at him, but he's strong enough to set the edge at outside linebacker.

The 3rd round pick was SMU (Southern Methodist) wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders, who is an undersized receiver who projects to play out of the slot. He has great quickness and suddenness getting out of his breaks. In addition, he shows good body control but can have some inconsistency with his hands on balls outside his frame. He should become a strong No. 3 receiver.

4th round choice Thaddeus Gibson was the first Ohio State player taken in the 2010 draft. He seems to be a value pick for the Steelers. Gibson shows great athleticism and an elite quick first step off the edge. That said, he needs refining and polish to develop into the complete pass-rusher.

In the 5th, they took Stevenson Sylvester (outside linebacker out of Utah), Chris Scott(offensive guard out of Tennessee) and Clemson cornerback Crezdon Butler.

The 6th round saw the Steelers take Georgia Tech. RB Jonathan Dwyer and Central Michigan receiver Antonio Brown.

Their 7th round pick was Ohio State defensive end Doug Worthington.

The Steelers always seem to find productive players in the bargain rounds of the draft. It will be interesting to see how this years crop turns out. If I had to pick one reason why the Steelers have been fielding a tough team, it would be their ability to scout lower round talent who can step in and fill the spots left open by vacating players.

Gibson could be one of those players that fits that profile. He's not there right now. They are addressing a future need with Pouncey and his versatility will get him into the lineup next season. He's the highlight of the draft. I think the Steelers are crossing their fingers with the rest of their picks.

I would have to grade their draft currently a solid C.
