Since the Talladega weather washed out the qualifying rounds, the NASCAR rulebook was consulted to set up the race grid. The first five for the Sprint Cup will be Jimmie Johnson,Matt Kenseth, Greg Biffle, Kevin Harvick and Jeff Gordon. Harvick won the pole for the Nationwide race and will take on Carl Edwards, Ricky Stenhouse Jr., Steve Arpine and Shelby Howard. If you are really watching carefully, you’ll see that eleven drivers are set to run in both races.
n most cases, just discussing the weather with a peer or colleague is pretty common. If the discussion involves race fans, everyone’s ears start to perk up just a bit. Saturday’s weather in Mississippi and Alabama caused race officials to make some big decisions regarding the Talladega Superspeedway. Those decisions involved postponing the Nationwide Series race and setting up a double headerDouble headers are mostly associated with the sport of baseball. But, today, Talladega will host the Aaron’s 499 Sprint Cup race and then turn around and put the Aaron’s 312 Nationwide cars to the test. The action gets underway at 1:00 PM EST and hopefully the Busch folks can get a bit of action afterwards. Talladega weather looks much better today and officials are hopeful they can carry on as planned.
